Playing versus Mandrakes
Key mechanics: Soulstrike, Within Shadow, Shadow Passage, Umbral Entities.
Operatives
- Nightfiend — When you activate within 6", can interrupt the activation; Can roll to ignore one attack die damage
- Abyssal — 1 AP: apply a token to a visible operative, gives +1 Dmg and Saturate to friendly ranged attacks; Blast 2" with unlimited range
- Chooser of the Flesh — After kill: permanent +1 APL or heal to any operative
- Dirgemaw — Range 6" Seek Light Stun attack; Strategic Gambit: marks enemy, then can activate before them; 1 AP: target gets Injured-like debuff
- Shadeweaver — Shadow Portals: ALL Mandrakes can Shadow Passage each TP (instead of only one); 1 AP: persistent smoke marker (removed if incapacitated)
Tips
- Soulstrike makes high Save stats useless
- Most of their abilities need to be Within Shadow to work well
- They badly want to kill someone with Chooser of the Flesh for the APL boost
