Staging Types

Every operative should have a clear purpose based on its position. Aggressive models project threats. Defensive models punish enemy aggression. Scoring models contest objectives. Zoning models deny space.

• Aggressive staging sets up threats on your opponent — ideally asymmetric ones.
• Defensive models protect your other operatives by threatening to counter-attack.
• Utility operatives on objectives can also serve as bait, drawing opponents into your defensive models.
• Zoning operatives deny areas — often snipers covering open objectives or charge lanes.

Threat Independence

Position your threats so they cannot all be answered at once. If your key operatives threaten from separate areas, the opponent must choose which to address — leaving the other free to act.

• Independent threats across different lanes force your opponent into impossible choices.
• A single enemy action should not neutralize multiple threats — spread them out.
• Use terrain and board space to create separate threat lanes.
